This study compared gene expression profiles in the kidney medulla and cortex of obese and lean dogs.MethodsLean dogs (N = 4) were fed a standard kennel ration and obese dogs (N = 4) were fed the standard diet plus 0.5 to 0.9 kg of cooked beef fat per day for 10 weeks.
