Competences for Employability: How can they be Developed and Assessed in Initial Training?

AbstractSociety is undergoing a dramatic evolution and transformations that seriously affect employment. Jobs that used to be permanent are quickly vanishing, and new ones are starting to appear as a result of various initiatives. Access to the job market is diversifying and new paths appearing. This requires proactive professionals with a capacity to adapt to endless transformations. Initial education needs to be able to grant the necessary skills for any professional to be able to overcome the existing challenges, either to the search for a job with continuity, or to the creation of their own employment through enterprising behavior.It is important for higher education to ensure the acquisition of competences using specific methodologies to facilitate students protagonism in their learning, and equally important to evaluate these competences to grade them correctly.This communication presents an experience in which the skills necessary for a professional's employability are developed and evaluated
