AbstractWithin the Collaborative Research Center “humanoid robots” at KIT there is a strong interest in generating humanlike motion. On one hand large-scale experimental studies are performed to gather insight into the variety and complexity of human motion on the other hand models for the kinematic and dynamic analysis as well as for the synthesis of movement are developed in order to understand the principles of human motion. Here we present a computational approach combining model-based kinematic and dynamic analysis of experimental data together with the synthesis of motion related to cost functions to analyze motion generation in humans
