Background: The objective of this study was designed to illustrate the association between cardiovascular risk factors and CKD.Methods: Subjects aged between 30 and 74 who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2003-2006) were included for analysis, and Framingham risk score was calculated. Glomerular filtration rate was estimated (eGFR) by the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) Equation, and CKD was defined as eGFR less than 60 ml/min/1.73m2.Results: A total of 2524 men (mean age: 51±13) and 2516 women (mean age: 50±13) completed both cardiovascular risk assessment and renal function evaluation. The proportion of Mexican Hispanic, other Hispanic, whites, blacks, and other races was 20.4%, 3.1%, 51.9...
