AbstractA realistic representation of the water demand in the network nodes is a basic prerequisite for a reliable modelling of the water distribution systems. In this paper the OP model is applied, which aims to describe the end user water demand, without focusing on the requests of the single domestic sanitary appliances. This model allows taking into account the hourly and daily variability of the water request and the demand persistence. The validity of the model few cluster of users (1-20 users) has been tested on 4 monitored apartments in the water distribution network of Piedimonte San Germano town (South Italy)
