AbstractThe present study proposes application of Russian Parallel Corpus in investigation of Russian derivational suffix– yaka. Analyzing the work of professional translators the author makes inferences about the way they process and use derivatives with suffix– yaka. The obtained results support compositional nature of the researched derivatives’ processing coming in line with the results obtained within propositional approach to the description of derivational processes
