The impact of high-flux hemodialysis on clinical outcomes remains controversial. We have previously shown that in vivo transmigrated leukocytes from patients with low-flux bioincompatible hemodialysis have an impaired capacity to upregulate CD11b at the site of interstitial inflammation.
