AbstractCurrency exposure measurement is essential to exchange rate risk management with instruments in financial engineering. We investigate the currency exposure of electronics companies of China by using the Shanghai and Shenzhen A-Share market listed companies as a basis for our sample. Using distributed-lag model, we analyze the sensitivity of their stock returns to exchange rates with different lag periods. We also consider the influences of the 2008 global crisis and the Sino-US exchange rate dispute. Empirical results indicate that the whole electronics industry is facing a significant lagged currency exposure, but the appreciation of RMB is not harmful to all of the companies, with a few of them benefited from it
