ABSTRACTEVALUATION OF THE RESPIRATORY FUNCTION IN PATIÂ ENTS WITH OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA SYNDROMEWe studied in 25 patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) deferente factors, that could be involved in this pathology. We confirmed the relationship between obesity and the OSAS, without direct implication of static or dynamic Lung Volumes alterations.It was not possible to correlate respiratory drive abnormalities (P0. 1) with OSAS, but we found evident correlation between the Maximal Inspiratory Pressure drop and this syndrome, reflecting ineficacity of respiratory muscle contraction.The 25 patients studied, were submited to C02 stimulus, showing hyperventilation, with specific increase of the Tidal Volume.We observed a very wea...
