A class of cyclic codes for correcting synchronization errors is constructed. This code uses a fixed prefix pattern as part of the information symbols. It is shown that these codes have the power of the codes developed by Bose and Caldwell (1967) and in some cases greater efficiency. Correction of synchronization is extremely simple
