The optimal reperfusion strategy in elderly patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains a topic of debate. This lack of consensus stems from the exclusion or under-representation of the elderly in clinical trials. This review evaluates the available literature pertaining to reperfusion therapy for the treatment of STEMI in the elderly.
