AbstractBackground/purposeBisphosphonates (BPs) are synthetic drugs with antitumor and bone antiresorptive activities. The use of BPs is suspected to favor the emergence of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ), a putative side effect whose pathogenesis remains unclear.
