SummarySynovial sarcoma is rare in the head and neck, especially in the oral and maxillofacial region. We report a case of synovial sarcoma of the mandible in a 42-year-old man. The patient was referred with recurrent diffuse swelling in the right buccal area and underwent regional resection of the right mandibular bone with construction. He has been alive and well with no evidence of disease for seven years since final surgery. The histological features are described and diagnostic problems discussed
