AbstractWith the presence of distributed generation (DG) units in distribution systems, its function is generally going to be changed. These systems deeply effects on distribution systems protection. A method to decrease DG effects on distribution systems protection is re-coordination of protective devices. To prevent high cost, the system configuration should be change to decrease the effect of DG sources when a fault occurs. One of the suggested methods to do that is the use of fault current limiter (FCL). A sample ring network at DIgSILENT is simulated in this paper.
