AbstractNonpharmacologic therapy for ventricular arrhythmias has gained growing attention with the development of the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. In addition, the reports of adverse effects of drug therapy from several studies, including the Cardiac Arrhythmia Suppression Trial (CAST), have supported the need for these devices.
