This study examines the impacts of political corruption to democracy within the six democratic domains pointed out by Mark E. Warren: executive functions, judicial functions, legislative functions, public sphere, civil society, and market. Corruption and its impacts on democracy within these domains are studied in a comparative case study between Botswana, Benin and The Gambia. The results of this study shows that political corruption harms democracy both in the hard values of efficiency and functionality, as well as the soft values of a vivid civil society, democratic culture and political participation
