This report summarises presentations and discussions that took place during the IP Exchange and Finance workshop in the European Commission's Van Maerlant Building in Brussels, on June 14, 2016. The event was jointly organised by the European Commission’s DG Joint Research Centre (JRC) and DG RTD, with support by and participation of members of the European TTO Circle Intellectual property, as well as knowhow and knowledge in general, have become key assets of advanced economies, but to this day the creation of standardised IP market institutions – as there are in markets for capital, land and labour – remains highly a complex and controversial quest.
