International audiencePsychosomatic disorders are classically related to the body outside the brain. Yet, there is no reason why the circuits of the brain cannot be affected by a psychosomatic process. This instance was implied in ancient theories regarding the effect of passions on the brain, by mean of humors. They were also implied in the theories of French alienists of the beginning of the 19th century (Georget in particular), as well as in the theory regarding schizophrenia by Bleuler but mainly by Jung at the beginning of the 20th century.
