This paper proposes an new approach for modeling and analysis the dynamic effects of virtual inertia on two-area AC/DC interconnected AGC power systems. Inertia emulation is known as key factor for modern power systems. In this paper, the higher level application of derivative control for emulating the inertia is investigated. This method of inertia emulation is developed for two-area AGC system which is connected by two parallel AC/DC transmission systems. Based on proposed technique, the dynamic effects of virtual inertia emulation on frequency and active power control could be evaluated. Simulations results, demonstrate how virtual inertia emulation can effectively improves the performance of the power system. Eigenvalue analyses are als...
