Self-critical (SC) perfectionism, the more maladaptive dimension of perfectionism, has been associated with depression, anxiety, stress and various other difficulties. The overall purpose of the current doctoral thesis was to identify important explanatory mechanisms that help to clarify the relationship between SC perfectionism and negative outcomes over time in both community as well as clinical samples with the goal of identifying important targets for future interventions.
