Portland State University Commencement Address

Barbara Roberts, Oregon\u27s 34th Governor, spoke to graduates at the Portland State University commencement ceremony on June 16, 2007. She was introduced by former PSU President Daniel Bernstine. Using historical examples of personal courage, including moments in her own political career, she enthusiastically encouraged the class of 2007 to act boldly according to principle, with the assurance that the rewards of courageous individual actions are ultimately shared by all of society.
