A possibility of the furfural diethyl acetal preparation by direct interaction of the aldehyde and a slight excess of ethanol with high selectivity and preparative yield of 70 % was demonstrated. To shift the acetalization equilibrium the water vapour was absorbed by calcium oxide from gas phase.
