Performer: Stanford University Project Lead: Scott Sagan Project Cost: $179,539 FY16–17This research project seeks to encourage more extensive public understanding of and more effective U.S. engagement in debates about the humanitarian consequences of the use of nuclear weapons. There is a vibrant international debate about whether the use of a nuclear weapon could ever be legal under international humanitarian law as well as how to mitigate the environmental effects of nuclear weapons production and use.
