AbstractThe concept of efficiency in a complex dynamic network plays the role of measuring its ability for the exchange of information and its response for the spread of perturbations in diverse applications. This concept is strongly related to the topological properties of the network. A new framework for the definition of network efficiency is discussed, and some of its consequences are established. We also consider how the efficiency changes as the network structure evolves, by introducing the concept of stability associated to the efficiency of a network as an accurate tool to measure the evolution of a dynamic complex network
