AbstractThe bioactivation of pro-toxicants is the biological process through which some chemicals are metabolized into reactive metabolites. Therefore, in vitro toxicological evaluation should ideally be conducted in cell systems retaining adequate metabolic competency and relevant to the route of exposure.
