ISTS, The Interactive Space-Time Scheduler, is an interactive system for scheduling static algorithms developed at SICS. The ISTS system is an experimental "CAD" system that supports the mapping of static algorithms in space-time. The system decreases the time taken to get a time-optimal or nearly time-optimal mapping of an algorithm. Improvements and extensions have been made to the first version of ISTS. A theoretical study of automatic scheduling algorithms that might be applied in the ISTS system is also included. The ISTS system now provides support for the user to model the algorithm in a hierarchical manner. It supports multiple windows and possibilities to conceal information in order to improve scalability. This makes ISTS both mor...
