Hur har du skapat ditt sound? : En studie om flerspråkighet, sångideal och personligt uttryck

This study examines whether multilingualism have an affect on vocal students' sound, and how the singing teacher's attitude balances this in relation to the current song ideal. The study was conducted using eight qualitative research interviews, where four of the informants were high school students, from grades one to three, attending the arts program in music. The remaining four informants consisted of active high school music teachers.The results from the eight interviews show some factors that are essential for the development of a vocal student's personal sound and expression. Song pupils must receive clear instructions and be aware of what they imitate and for what purpose. The vocal teacher should also be aware of how much they form and the responsibility this comes with during the singing lesson.The results also show that vocal teachers have different views about whether the vocal sound is influenced by the students cultural heritage.
