Building a PCB Milling Machine

The goal of this thesis was to test if I could apply the knowledge I gained during my education to build, from scratch, some kind of “mechatronics machine”. The choice of a PCB milling machine was made because it seemed like a good combination of mechanics, electronics, programming, and control. It is also relatively affordable and not too big, and I plan to use it to mill PCBs for some future projects.I consider that this project has been successful; the machine is up and running, even if needing quite a few improvements. It was however not as easy as I expected: the theory in itself was not a problem, but it was when interacting with the “industry world” that it became complicated.
