In addition to the regular publications on social protection in the Nordic countries, NOSOSCO also publishes various more comprehensive reports, the so-called theme reports. In this report, a comparative study of the pension systems in the Nordic countries is described. The report touches on the consequences of ageing populations and the resulting provision problem.Development in the increased life expectancy, the pensionable age and the participation rate of the older members of the labour force is analyzed. In some typical cases, a calculation is made of how large a percentage of the pay the pension constitutes.
