Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia suffers from poor solid waste management. The inadequate solid waste management system has rendered development, lessened the aesthetic beauty of the city and most importantly endangered the lives of the people. Regardless of the harmfulness of the waste, solid waste management has not been given the amount of attention it requires. The insufficient management and lack of attention to the matter can be observed from the unbearable litter in the rivers, drains and streets in Addis Ababa.
