Enhancing osseointegration through surface immobilization of multiple short peptide sequences that mimic extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, such as arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) and lysine-arginine-serine-arginine (KRSR), has not yet been extensively explored. Additionally, the effect of biofunctionalizing chemically modified sandblasted and acid-etched surfaces (modSLA) is unknown.
