Single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) is a new operative approach for colorectal resection. Laparoscopic colectomy is performed via a single incision. It gives excellent cosmetic result and there is a potential in further reduction of surgical trauma. SILS colectomy is, however, technically demanding. Various specialized single port access systems, laparoscopes, and instruments have been designed to facilitate this surgical procedure. Careful selection of patients is important. Certain surgical techniques also serve to overcome technical adversities
