Dr Sekhaulelo is participating in the research project, ‘Social ethics for regions in flux’, directed by Dr Willem Fourie, Department Dogmatics and Christian Ethics, Faculty of Theology, University of Pretoria.This article investigates the challenges facing the Dutch Reformed Churches in the South African liberal democracy. It is premised on the fact that the Dutch Reformed Churches are confronted with a new context that places the church in a position to continue its work of bearing witness in the new dispensation.
