This article resulted from research done for my PhD thesis, ‘Theology in the flesh: Exploring the corporeal turn from a southern African perspective’. This joint degree was awarded by the University of Pretoria and the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, with Prof. Dr J.C.
