Although research on talent management has gained ground in the last decade, research on the effect of talent management is still rather scarce. Consequently, this article studies the influence of talent management on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. These relationships are examined using large N survey data among HR managers and employees in 27 entities of the Flemish government as well as within-case analyses which focus on implementation and perception of talent management through line managers and employees. Surprisingly, talent management appears to have no effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment.status: publishe
