The evaluation of motor skills for preschool-age children with mild vision impairments

Objective of the work: to evaluatemotor skills changes for preschool – age children with mild vision impairments. Goals of the work: 1. To evaluate changes of coordination skills for preschool-age children with mild vision impairments and to compare them with preschool-age children without visual impairments. 2. To evaluate changes of balance skills for preschool-age children with mild vision impairments and to compare them with preschool-age children without visual impairments. 3. To evaluate changes of fine motor skills for preschool-age children with mild vision impairments and to compare them with preschool-age children without visual impairments. The study was made in one of Kaunas kindergarten. The study examined 54 of participants. We investigated anthropometric measurements, coordination skills, balance skills and fine motor skills. Conclusion: 1. We found that preschool-age children with mild vision impairments coordination skills have improved, but did not differ in comparison with preschool-age children without visual impairments(p>0,05). 2. Taking into accountthe staticanddynamicbalance, we found that after balancetraining exercisesprogram, the balance improved, but did not differ in comparison with preschool-age children without visual impairments (p>0,05). 3. After fine motor skills training exercises program, preschool-age children withand withoutvisual impairmentof fine motorskillsimproved,but did not differ in comparison with preschool-age children without visual impairments (p>0,05)
