The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of food supplements among Lithuanian adult population. In 2006 random sample of 3000 Lithuanians aged 20-64 was taken from the National Population Register. The study material was collected by mailed questionnaire. Data shows that use of food supplements at least one month per year was reported by 71 % of respondents (56.6 % of men and 80.5 % of women). Supplements use was significantly higher among young (20-34 years) than older men and women. Persons with higher education used the food supplements more often compared with low educated. The proportion of women using food supplements was higher in cities than in rural areas
