Disgnostic method‘s peculiarities of canine pyometra

Pyometra is a potentially life threating condition, therefore the task of work was to evaluate bitches with pyometra optimal methods of early diagnostic, evaluate blood morphology and biochemical parameters changes. Rate an age of manifestation of pyometra. Set the time from the last estrus to clinical signs of pyometra. A study was conduction with female dogs with pyometra in the first group (n=19) and female dogs presented for ovariohysterectomy in control group (n=10). The blood test results gave a clear picture of systemic effects of organism. Was found anemia, inflammation and kidney dysfunction. The average of WBC is 20.27 x 109/l in the blood of bitches with pyometra. Upper limit of WBC in blood is 28.36 x 109/l. The highest leukocytosis and neutrophilia were diagnostic bitches with close cervix pyometra. Red blood cells (RBC) count average in first tested group was 5.02 x 1012/l, hematocrit (HCT) – 28.79 %, hemoglobin (HGB) average was 11.79 g/dl. These result indicate development of aplastic anemia and influenza. For bitches with pyometra were captured CREA average 210.37 µmol/l and BUN – 13.82 mmol/l. The average time interval from estrus to pyometra clinical development of sings was 62.6 days. Age average, suffered from pyometra was 9.65 years. X-ray like pyometra diagnostic test is not , informative. It was positive only for 15.79% pacients. Meanwhile, ultrasound – 100% . Vaginal cytological smear allows to identification that inflammation localization is in reprodukciniame tract, while blood tests shows general inflammation
