Negative acts at work experienced by nurses of healthcare institutions of Kaunas county and their correlations with self – report on personal health

International organizations, professionals of public health, public administration and other related spheres draw attention to the prevalence of negative acts at work and the related problems of health, economy and human resources management. The researches conducted prove the prevalence of negative acts at health care sector as compared to other sectors. The spread of physical and psychological violence is particularly frequent among nurses. Researches on negative acts at work in Lithuania are in the primary stage. The main aim of the dissertation is to examine the exposure to negative acts at work and its correlations to self-report on personal health of nurses of health care institutions (X) of Kaunas County. The aim of the work is detailed by the tasks of the work: 1. To define the frequency of exposure to negative acts at work experienced by nurses. 2. To examine self-report on personal health of nurses and their correlations with stress and negative acts at work. 3. To evaluate health disorders of nurses and their correlations with job satisfaction. The results of the research give evidence that negative acts at work pose a serious problem in the surveyed healthcare institutions. Exposure to negative acts at work results in negative health outcomes and negative attitude towards work. The research on the staff of all healthcare institutions of the country is advisable, which would induce the preparation of preventative and cause-eliminating programs
