Satisfaction of pharmacits with work in a pharmacy net and perfection oftheir profesisional qualification

The objectives of the study. To evaluate pharmacy company’s specialists (pharmacists and pharmacist assistants satisfaction with the job and perfection of their professional qualification. Methods. All pharmacy specialists were questioned by an anonymous questionnaire (n=218). 168 of questionnaires were completed and returned by the respondents. The response rate was 77 % The data was analyzed using MS Excel and SPSS version 15.0 Statistical software package. Following statistic procedures were used: the χ2 criterion, the Kolmagorov – Smirnov criterion, degree of freedom (lls), statistical significance (p), the z test, the Mann – Whitney U test, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient (r). 95 % confidence intervals were used for comparing variable means. Results. 29.2 % of respondents were satisfied with their job, 61.3 % were more satisfied than unsatisfied with their job. Middling powerfulness link was detected between job satisfaction and the salary, working conditions, the work load. Pharmacy specialists were mostly contented with the relations between colleagues and managers, their independence for performing the job, and less satisfied with the work load, their payment for work and working conditions. Satisfaction with the job didn’t differ between pharmacists and their assistants statistically significantly. Pharmacy specialists usually raised their qualification in courses that lasted from one to several hours (85.7%), lasted for one – two days (70.8 %) and studied literature independently (70.8 %). 59.5 % of the respondents mentioned that the most limiting factor in their in-service training is the lack of time, for 22.6 % of the respondents it is the price of the courses. More than half of the pharmacist assistants (54.5 %) are not going to strive for pharmacist’s qualification. 26.0 % of the respondents that study to acquire pharmacists qualification have problems – it is difficult for them to adjust their working hours and their studies, they have additional expenses, there exist imprecise laws concerning their future job. Conclusions. 90.5 % of pharmacy specialists working in this pharmacy company are satisfied or more satisfied than unsatisfied with their jobs. Job satisfaction depends on the payment for their work, working conditions and their work load. Satisfaction with the job doesn’t differ between pharmacists and their assistants statistically significantly, but pharmacist assistants are more satisfied with their relations with the managers, the working hours and the working conditions. The majority of the respondents raise their qualification in workshops and studying literature independently.
