Safety control of imported nuts

Job performance: 1. Master's paper purpose and objectives of the formulation, implementation plan and program, and the theoretical part of the study methodology and the preparation of a Lithuanian Veterinary Academy, Food Safety and Animal Hygiene Department; 2. The experimental work carried out at the National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute and Vilnius city state's Food and Veterinary Office. The aim of this work: The master’s paper covers 2006-2007 years’ data research of rate of safety controls of imported nuts in to the Republic of Lithuania. Today's consumers want to be sure that the foods they buy and use, are not only tasty, nutritious, and not endanger their health, etc. are safe. The amount of mycotoxins is the crucial variable in determining the nut and the safety of the products. Therefore, this work has been chosen to consider the nuts of mycotoxin contamination of their products. Their detection is an important metric in assessing the risk to consumer health. Conclusions: 1. After the 2006 and 2007 RASFF data analysis, found that most often product group obtained RASFF reports on the nuts and their products that are unsafe on the set in excess of aflatoxin. 2. After the data analysis, it was established that the exporting countries: Iran, Turkey, China, Argentina, Brazil and the U.S. have an increased risk of cancer, there are often found on high-volume levels of aflatoxins nuts. 3. Established that the RASFF system works very efficiently, and that ensures a rapid exchange of information on unsafe food products, as well as the effective control of food to ensure safe and quality food consumer. 4. National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute after a series of laboratory studies established that only one sample reacted positively (Peanut), the minimum levels of aflatoxin B1 content was 8.911 μg/kg, and maximum - 32.508 μg/kg (maximum level of ground nuts: Aflatoxin B1 - 2 μg/kg for aflatoxins amount - 4 μg/kg). The minimum value is the amount of aflatoxins found 13.794 μg/kg, and maximum - 35.552 μg/kg. The sample studied LST EN 12955:2001 \"Foodstuffs - Determination of aflatoxin B1, and the sum of aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 in cereals, shell-fruits and derived products - High performance liquid chromatographic method with post column derivatization and immunoaffinity column clean up\" approach. Suggestions: 1. Conducting research on aflatoxin elimination or reduction of food. The scientists found that ultraviolet light exposed to aflatoxin gradually breaks down. 2. One of the preventive actions to inactivate aflatoxin contaminated food products may be subject to thermal effects. 3. We suggest that the nuts before delivering it to the market should be tested in accredited laboratory to find out the level of aflatoxins
