Experience of women with breast cancer during chemotherapy

Problem. Breast cancer is the most frequent type of cancer among women in the EU and Lithuania. Due to chemotherapy, treatment of tumour has become more efficient. However, during chemotherapy patients experience great physical and emotional stress, which seriously tests protective powers of the body and person‘s capability to adapt. The main attention being given to diagnostics of breast cancer, screening programmes and studies of life quality of patients with breast cancer, patients‘subjective experience during chemotherapy has little been investigated. The aim of the work: to show women‘s with breast cancer experience during chemotherapy. The issue of the research: What do women with breast cancer experience when chemotherapy is applied? The objectives of the work: 1. To find out women‘s with breast cancer and to whom chemotherapy is applied response to undesirable effects caused by treatment with chemopreparations. 2. To analyse the expression of psycho-emotional problems of women with breast cancer and to whom chemotherapy is applied. 3. To disclose women‘s with breast cancer changed relationships with the environment as a result of the disease and chemotherapy. 4. To examine the need of psycho-emotional help for women with breast cancer and to whom chemotherapy is applied. 5. To reveal the peculiarities of the relationship with the disease, ways of conquering and possibilities of women with breast cancer and to whom chemotherapy is applied
