IgE concentration evaluation and influence to I type hypersensitivity manifestations in atopic and healthy dogs in veterinary practice

The material for the study was collected at „Siaurio Šnauceris“ clinic between years 2011 and 2015. Research consists of 36 pages, including 11 pictures, 1 tables and 1 annexes. For the thesis, 63 different literature sources were used in total. The main objective of the work was to analyze and evaluated the causes of increased levels immunoglobulin E (IgE) for the dogs who have a I type of hypersensitivity reactions manifestation. It has also been analyzed in detail all the research material, made factors affecting the occurrence of atopy, analysis. High attention has been paid to one of the most important methods of diagnosis determining allergies – immunoenzyme analysis( IFA) and the recent data. The analysis of the data was found that increased IgE levels has had 26,62% (95%CI 19.64-33.6%), (p<0,05) dogs with an average IgE in blood serum was 16,38±0,81 ng/ml. Seronegative samples consisted 73,38% (95%CI 66.4-80.3%), (p<0,05) of researched and an average IgE was 4,45±0,22 ng/ml at among of healthy dogs. Out of type I hypersensitivity inherent clinical symptoms had dogs increased IgE concentration was found for 80,4% (95%CI 69,09-90,98) of tested, and from increased level of IgE concentration had dogs clearly embodied clinical symptoms has showed 72,0% (95%CI 58,26-85,74) of tested. The analysis of the clinical indications has been revealed the most common symptoms of atopy was itchy skin, redness and rash (43,8% (95%CI 26.61-60.99%)), but those dogs avarage mean of IgE in blood serum was 15,78 ±0,53 ng/ml. For pureblooded dogs atopy was found 1,1 times more frequently and accounted for 53,66% (95%CI 38.4-68.92%), but in among of pureblooded dogs mostly atopic bread was West Highland White Terrier (13,64% (95%CI 3.13-24.15% of the cases tested) and Golden Retrievers (13,64% (95%CI 3.13-24.15% of the cases tested).
