The analysis of influence of Lithuanian cows, country, season and size of farms on milk composition parameters

Therefore the following objective of the work was raised: To analyze the influence of Lithuanian cows, country, season and size of farms on milk composition parameters. Tasks of work: 1. Select the most common breeds of cows in Lithuania, compare their influence on milk composition (fat, protein, lactose). 2. Compare raw milk composition indicators (fat, protein, lactose) in different countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). 3. Compare influence of season on milk composition (fat, protein, lactose) indicators. 4. Compare farm size influence on milk composition (fat, protein, lactose) indicators. The study analyzed and compared data of raw milk composition indicators (fat, protein, lactose) of the most common Lithuanian cows breeds, it covered tha data of 2012-2013 sourced from the bank of monitoring of animals productivity. Also, it was analyzed and compared the data of raw milk composition indicators (fat, protein, lactose) in one of Lithuanian milk processing plants in 2013, considering the influence of country, season and size of farm. Composition of milk indicators was determined in an external laboratory State Company “Pieno tyrimai”. The investigation data was processed using descriptive and statistical methods and statistical package SPSS (SPSS Inc., version Nr. 17). The method of descriptive analysis was used to identify number of data of variable indocators (n), arithmetic average and deviation of mean as well as minimum (Min) and maximum (Max) meanings.
