Evaluation of cows conformation traits in different dairy cattle breeds.

Objective of the study: To evaluate and compare the conformation traits of different breeds of dairy cows. To investigate the conformation traits of dairy cows dependence on genotype according to the Holstein breed degree. To analyze conformation traits of cows according to the different sire lines. To determine the influence of breed, degree of Holstein genes, sire and herd on conformation traits. Materials and methods: The study was carried out at the Department of Animal Breeding and Nutrition, of Veterinary Academy, at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and also in a farms of dairy cattle, during 2014 – 2016 years of studies. \"Blood degree\" was calculated assuming that the offspring receives half of the chromosomes containing genetic information encoded from the mother‘s and half from the sire (father‘s) breeds. Cows conformation indicators were assessed by a linear method approved by the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture in 2012. 12 June. Order no. 3D-399. During the study it was investigated 372 dairy cows. The Results of Survey: Evaluation of examined dairy cows conformation traits showed that the best according to conformation traits were evaluated Swedish Black and White cows, most of which trais were close to the optimal evaluation (p <0.01). The worst conformation traits was estimated in Danish Black and White cattle breed cows (p <0.01). It was estimated, the average degree of Holstein breed 79.05 ± 1.185 % Cows with a higher than 50 % of Holstein breed degree, were higher (142.05±0.202), the body - deeper (6.80±0.045), with better expressed dairy type (7.06±0.050), with stronger udder ligament (7.01±0.086) compared to cows with lower Holstein breed degree (p<0.01).
