The aspects of counseling of pregnant and breastfeeding women about healthy lifestyle and rational use of medications in Lithuanian pharmacies

The aim of the research was to investigate the characteristics of counseling of pregnant and breastfeeding women by determining the associations between the frequency of counseling on the issues of healthy lifestyle and the rational use of medications, and the factors promoting the reprofessionalization of pharmacy specialists as well as pharmacy specialists’ and mothers’ experiences. The objectives: 1. To analyze the associations between the frequency of counseling and the sociodemographic characteristics of pharmacy specialists. 2. To determine the associations between the frequency of counseling and the type of a pharmacy. 3. To analyze the associations between the frequency of counseling and the location of a pharmacy. 4. To determine the associations between the frequency of counseling and the frequency of interaction between pharmacy specialists and physicians. 5. To verify the hypothetic model of factors associated with the frequency of counseling. 6. To disclose pharmacy specialists’ and mothers’ experience related to counseling on the issues of pregnancy and breastfeeding in Lithuanian pharmacies
