Aim To evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric-bypass (LRYGB) in obese patients with type 2 diabetes. Tasks: 1. To investigate all the patients underwent the LRYGB on obesity and type 2 diabetes in LUHS Kaunas Hospital in 2005-2010. 2. To compare the clinical outcomes and quality of life (QoL) in operated patients before and 1 year or later after the surgery. 3. To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of LRYGB and to compare it with the conventional treatment cost.
