The objective of this work was to investigate the sulphur removal efficiency of granules inside the dry scrubber simulator. Granules with different size distributions were tested at different temperature levels and with different concentrations of sulphur in exhaust gas. Two types of experiments were conducted; continuous runs with a moving granule bed and batch tests with a static granule bed. The results indicate that finer granules remove sulphur more efficiently compared to coarser granules. The desulphurisation capacity has proven to be the most effective above the operating temperature of 350 °C but also below 250 °C.
