Virtual reality (VR) is a technologically created, immersive and interactive space. Interior design is an important profession where creative and technical solutions are applied to achieve a built environment. VR could be very beneficial in that area, but unfortunately most current solutions are just for viewing purposes. The main research question in this thesis is to find out how to create a simple immersive VR interior design system using a collaborative model? The problem is approached via constructive research method; a thorough literature survey along with the design, implementation and evaluation of a new immersive design system called VIDS.
