Creative and cultural clusters or districts – including art production, exhibition and trade - have been one of the key elements of urban regeneration practices in contemporary China. But what are the different spatial approaches to reactivate post-industrial clusters in Chinese cities through creative activities? How some of these interventions fostered social inclusion and community engagement? The reflection on, and the comparison in between, few meaningful case studies in Shanghai could better illustrate the different arrangements that derived from these experiences, both in terms of physical transformation and social interaction
